Empire Strikes Back Polish (One-Sheet)
Date / Version: (1982) Advance Foreign
Artwork by: M. Maciejewska
Variations: (Poster is found folded)
Bootlegs: None Known
Other Info: The images on this black starfield poster come from the famous illustrations used on the German Empire Strikes Back theatrical A1 sized posters. Also, the most noticeable oddity about this teaser one-sheet is the use of the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek, that is positioned atop the ESB main characters. Polish collectors have told me that the poster was also used as a commercial print for sale in touristy areas of Poland. Star Trek - The Motion Picture came out in '79, so to capitalize on any sci-fi fever during this period, they included the Star Trek ship as a way to entice moviegoers of both films. At the top it says "Gwiezdne Wojny Wciąż Trwają" which means that the Star Wars are still in progress, aka - The Saga Continues. And beneath the top text on the left hand side it has the Polish title of the film - Imperium Kontratakuje.
(Imperium Kontratakuje)
