First of all, thanks for visiting the website. We hope you enjoy seeing some of the many different versions of Star Wars movie posters from all over the world. Our only goal of this website is to share information and show some of the numerous posters associated with the Star Wars Trilogy. Hopefully, you might see some posters that you didn't know existed or at least gain some more knowledge about a poster that you might have. For now, we are showing a good number of the trilogy posters and will continue to add to this archive as our collection gets bigger. We believe that having a poster locked away in someone's personal collection, defeats the intended purpose of these advertisements. The only real joy you can get out of having some of these pieces of paper, is by showing them off, so people can see them.

Below, we are listing in different sections, helpful hints and information that will allow you to utilize the website efficiently. If you have any questions or additional information that pertains to this website don't hesitate to contact us. We don't claim to be experts in the genre of movie posters, but when it comes to Star Wars Movie Posters, we might know a thing or two.

Best Wishes and Enjoy the Collection!,

Paul Wilson

General Info

First thing that you must make sure of is that your internet browser be java enabled, otherwise the site doesn't work correctly and in some cases you might not be able to see anything.

You can navigate the website by using the links below the header banner, and also by using the pull-down menus located on the map that show the different continents and respective countries that have trilogy posters that you can look at. Just select one and then visit that country's page to see some of the different Star Wars posters. Also, don't forget to visit the 'other' Star Wars poster sections listed under the Home Page menu. It shows some of the newer posters (Special Edition, Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3), anniversary posters, and a page that has some of the popular non-movie posters, such as the Japanese Yamakatsu's, SW Concert Poster, and other special event posters.

When you select a poster image from a countries webpage, another webpage pops up that gives additional information about that poster. Below is a sample of what that page looks like and what the sections contain.

  • Section A. - Shows a larger digital image of the poster and also gives information about the photo.
  • Section B. - Gives you specific information about the poster.
    • Header - gives the movie title, country, and what the size of the poster is according to the country
    • Version: - gives you the date of the posters release and what US version it is comparable to. If the word (Foreign) is listed after the Style, than the poster is unlike any US poster.
    • Artwork by: - gives you the artist name and/or photographer that illustrated the poster
    • Variations: - lists how the poster is typically found, also lists the posters size if it is not the standard for the country, and and if there are any variations of the poster. Occasionally, we have also listed if there are any reprints of the poster.
    • Bootlegs: gives information about things to look for, if there are known forgeries of the particular poster.
    • Other Info: lists facts and summaries about the poster. Also mentions what characters and symbols are contained within the poster image. (Because in some cases we don't have a photo image yet.)
    • At the bottom of this section, we also list what the title of the movie is called in a particular country if it is not in English. eg. (Guerre Stellari) - Italian for Star Wars. Note: If you do not have a certain character set loaded for your browser (for example Japanese), this section will show up in unrecognized blocks.
  • Section C. - Shows the Star Wars Movie Poster.com Score Card - Rarity of Poster.

  • The score card gives you a feel for how hard this particular poster might be to find versus the other posters listed. It is based on criteria from these four questions.

    • 1. - How many posters there are of a particular version circulating?

    • 2. - How popular is this poster?

    • 3. - How much are individuals willing to pay for the poster?

    • 4. - How old is the poster?

  • The Jawa meter calculates from common - hard to find - rare - to extremely rare. And then gives a number to show it's rarity.

  • Note: Even with all this stuff factored in, it still doesn't mean an extremely rare poster won't show up on eBay tomorrow for $0.99, or that someone will try to sell you an Episode 2 Attack of the Clones One-Sheet movie poster for $300.00.

  • Section D. - Shows were this particular poster image has originated from - eg. Original (Star Wars Movie Poster.com) Photo.

Image Info

In a few places you will find this icon . It says that an image is not yet available. If for some reason we don't have an image for a known poster, that we would like to show on our website, we have used this icon to let you know that a version of this poster does exist, but we have been unable to obtain a picture of it for you. This can happen for many different reasons. The first reason is because a poster is so rare that there aren't any easily obtainable photos of it. The second reason and the more common occurrence, is that we may have an image of the poster, but before we use the photo, we would like to get permission from the original photographer, and give them credit for their snapshot. For the most part, we are using photos from our own personal collection. But obviously, we don't have everything, and there are instances when we feel it would be nice to show some of the other posters that we might not be as personally interested in, but that should be showcased on this website for reference purposes. In the few cases where we have used other peoples photos, we have listed them below the digital poster images and we give those persons or websites many thanks for helping us to make this website as complete as possible. I realize that some of the pictures circulating around the web could easily be taken and used on this site, but we don't want other websites harvesting our pictures, so we will do our best to credit the original photographer, publication, or website, if we use a digital photo from a third party.

Note: If the digital image cannot be verified or credited we have placed courtesy of (Stock Photo).  The poster probably originated as an auction photo or an actual art stock photo from Lucasfilm graphics department. If you happen to know the original photographer drop us an e-mail.
