Corvin Filmpalast showcasing the premiere of Csillagok háborúja in Budapest '79

On the Pest side of the city (Budapest's top attractions lie on the Pest side of the city) is the Corvin Budapest Filmpalast. It had a 1,200-seat capacity when it first opened on November 22nd, 1922, with an orchestra of 32 players. Three sets of double doors lead to the entrance, which is framed by a stone bust of King Matthias Corvinus that is surrounded by nymphs. A half-domed rotunda with a clock on top is located behind this on a recessed balcony. Jozsef Rona's sculptured relief panels are embedded into the facade on either side of the entryway.

Pictured in this blog listing is the marquee billboard from the premiere of Star Wars at the Cathay Theatre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (1977). The cinema was built in 1958 and opened with “Campbell’s Kingdom” starring Dirk Bogarde. The Cathay Theatre was closed in December 1997 and demolished in 2002. Always cool to see how Western 70s cinema culture influenced movies and their promotion around the globe. *Theater information from Cinematreasures.org

Star Wars poster exhibit - Bridging Art & Science - Exploration Place - POPnology

A new national traveling exhibit is opening up at Exploration Place in Wichita, KS, that looks at how pop culture, sci-fi films and other mediums have fired imaginations and influenced modern-day and future technologies. “POPnology: From SciFi to WiFi” opens January 28, 2021 and will run through Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Wichita's science center.

During the first big panel at Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago today, we got a glimpse of the new teaser trailer and Episode IX's title for the upcoming film called "The Rise of Skywalker". The poster was then shown off in the middle of J.J. Abrams' panel with members of the cast.
