Measure approximately 21" x 31", and were folded automatically by the printers. The posters are on thin glossy paper and the Star Wars artwork on the posters is similar to the USA printings, but with most of the poster taken up with Chinese text. There seems to be only five original movie posters printed for Hong Kong - one Star Wars, two for the Empire Strikes Back, and two for the Return of the Jedi. We are also showing a mixture of the Episode 1, 2, & 3 one-sheets from both mainland China and Hong Kong, along with the subway posters from the three prequel movies.

This original Empire Strikes Back one-sheet measures approximately 27" x 40", and the poster is found folded. The lightweight poster paper has the same feel as a sheet from your local newspaper. It uses the traditional international illustration by Ohrai, and it also has additional boxes - showing the cast members - at the top of the poster, which is very unique. Most people are not aware of the booming cinema culture in India. They do produce many of their own movies, along with the showing of major foreign titles, both of which produce memorabilia and movie posters. Most of their movie collectibles are sold at auctions in major cities within India. Along with the original ESB poster, we are also showing some of the Special Edition posters as well as the Episode 1 and Episode 2 posters from India. The Episode 2 ad campaign was rather unique because they had a large number of outdoor posters containing images not used any where else, along with some of the more familiar "Good Guys / Bad Guys" character posters.

Measure approximately 8" x 12", these small flyers are double-sided and are usually on the Indonesian A4 or F4 paper sizes. They are printed on a glossy paper stock and the Star Wars artwork used is from elements of the popular Thomas Jung and Roger Kastel illustrations. There seems to be very few remaining posters for the Star Wars trilogy, from Indonesia, because the movie wasn't very popular with cinema patrons at the time. Enjoy this rare example from the islands located between Malaysia and Australia. Current day movie posters in this region vary in size still, but most movies are printed more like regular one-sheets today (27" x 39").

Measure approximately 25" x 37", and were folded by the printers. The posters are on medium matte paper and the Star Wars artwork used is similar to the USA printings. There seems to be only a handful of official posters printed for Israel - a few Star Wars and at least one for Return of the Jedi. It is our belief that an Empire Strikes Back may have been printed, but we have never gotten any confirmation from talking with people in Israel, or with other Star Wars collectors around the world. We are also showing the one-sheets and banners from Episode 1, 2, & 3, and the Special Edition cinema posters (all printed on a think glossy paper), along with a hand-painted banner from Cinema City Glilot Junction, Ramat Hasharon theater.

The base size for Japanese posters is the (B2) size (20"x29"). When the width of this size is doubled, it measures approximately 29" x 41", which is the Japanese (B1) size. These posters are usually found rolled, on slick, heavy grade paper, and the Star Wars artwork is a mixture of photo illustrations and their own unique designs. These posters are usually a lot harder to find than their smaller counterparts. Interesting Note* - Japanese posters are printed on either glossy paper from the Tokyo area or matte paper printed in the Osaka area. It appears that all B1 size posters are on glossy paper.

Japan, like the USA, is really the only other country that has produced as many or more posters for the Star Wars trilogy. Their enthusiasm for sci-fi films helped to spur on an enormous amount of movie memorabilia generated for Star Wars. Unfortunately, because of the size of their country vs. the amount of people within Japan that collect their own sci-fi memorabilia, it is often hard to find certain Japanese posters because of their appeal and low production numbers. Below we are showing a sample of some of the "other" Star Wars posters from Japan, and hope to continue to add to this category as times goes by.
Japanese - (B5 - Chirashi) Movie Flyers

The Eiga Chirashi (movie flyer) is the (B5) size in Japan, which measures approximately 7" x 10". They are placed in the lobbies of cinemas for promotional use and are usually found flat, on slick, medium grade paper, and the Star Wars artwork found on them is a mixture of original USA styles and their own unique designs. The poster design is printed on the front in color, and the reverse side is usually in monochrome with ad copy and scene photos from the movie. The reverse side may also be stamped in a designated space or along a strip at the bottom with the name and contact details of the cinema. Many Star Wars collectors enjoy finding these small handbills because of their compact size. Interesting Note* - in 2002, a Japanese movie magazine re-issued all of the theatrical Star Wars chirashi's on one large folded sheet to commemorate the 25th Anniversary. It had dotted lines between each chirashi to enable accurate cutting. So, if you see one of these chirashi's with 25 Anniversary printed across the front of it, it came from the movie magazine.

Measure approximately 27" x 40", and the posters are usually found folded on glossy paper stock. The Star Wars artwork on these posters is like the USA versions, however, the Empire Strikes Back one-sheet has some unique color changes. Le Circuit Empire is one of the leading film distributors and cinema owners in Lebanon, and they have exclusive rights to distribute Columbia Tri-Star and Twentieth Century Fox movies to the Middle East. Arabic (Lebanese dialect) and French are the two major languages spoken in Lebanon, but from what we have seen, most of their modern film posters are English International versions, with a distributors logo / stamp from Le Circuit Empire. These one-sheets measure approximately 30" x 40", and the posters are folded. The lightweight poster paper has the same feel as a sheet from your local newspaper. The Star Wars artwork used is the traditional international illustrations by Chantrell, Jung, and Sano. These Pakistani posters were printed during the time when the governing class of Pakistan - educated and affected by Great Britain - wanted the country to be influenced by English. Because of this fact, these posters were printed in Karachi with English text lettering, instead of in Urdu, Punjabi, or Sindhi.

Measure approximately 27" x 40" and are usually found rolled, plus they have different banners and subway poster sizes used in the Orchard Mass Rapid Transit Station. These posters are on a glossy type paper or vinyl materials, and the Star Wars artwork is from the traditional Struzan / Lucasfilm secondary character illustrations. All of the posters we have found from Singapore are from the new prequel trilogy films, and they are in English.

There are Korean programs and other memorabilia from the original trilogy, along with official movie posters. The Star Wars one-sheet is based on the Japanese "photo" version with Korean text replacing the Japanese text. They measure approximately 21" x 33" - while the Ep 2 & 3 one-sheets are 27" x 40". The newer Star Wars prequel artwork is the standard Struzan character collage, and the South Korean posters are most likely to be found rolled. In the gallery you can view the standard one-sheets, along with some handbills and some of the extra advertising campaign artwork for Episode One and subway posters from Episode 2 and 3.

Measure approximately 20½" x 30" or 27" x 40", and are usually found rolled and single-sided. These posters are on a glossy type paper and the Star Wars artwork is from the traditional Struzan / Lucasfilm illustrations and The Clone Wars posters are from New Wave Creative Animation. We don't have any information as of yet, whether there were original Star Wars trilogy posters from Taiwan, but there are prequel posters printed for use there in (Mandarin Chinese) from Episode 1, 2, 3, and the Clone Wars. Anyway, enjoy these rare Taiwanese examples.

The one-sheets measure approximately 21" x 31", and the posters are usually found rolled. The posters are on a thin glossy paper and the Star Wars artwork on the posters is from the familiar Chantrell, Jung, & Sano drawings, with elements of Thai writings. The Star Wars vintage poster from Thailand, lists the movie as being called The War of the World. We are also showing the special edition posters, along with the new prequel & Clone Wars posters (24" x 35") and some Episode 1, 2 & 3 subway banners.

Measure approximately 27" x 40", and were originally rolled by the printers. However, they can be found rolled or folded now. The posters are on thin matte paper and the Star Wars artwork used is like the USA printings, except they were illustrated and/or enhanced by Turkish artists. The proliferation of the internet and the global ease of communication has generated lots of interest in Turkish memorabilia by American collectors. These three vintage posters, along with a lot of other Turkish movie collectibles, have surfaced recently out of the Turkish cinema warehouses. Turkey also has an advance Special Edition Ingot poster (they used the international English versions for the other three individual SE trilogy posters), and poster versions of the newer prequel movies - Episode 1, 2, 3, and the Clone Wars.
