Other Info: This interesting silk-screened poster from Takamatsu, Shikoku was used to promote the new Star Wars film at the "Lion Hall" movie theater on Lion street. It was touting that the film's premiere release was starting July 1st, 1978 and that this location was part of the roadshow series of events planned for the film in Japan (7月1日 ロードショー). It has a vibrant blue background with white lettering. In the center it has a trio of X-wings with the Death Star design on the left hand side. The Star Wars logo and its Japanese translation are found at the bottom and it also includes the Dolby System symbol letting patrons know about the four channel hi-fidelity audio of the movie. This poster is certainly rare, with very few copies originally printed for the advertisement of the film roadshow series.
