Other Info: This '82 Japanese transit ad re-release poster contains the traditional Thomas Jung illustration, with the sexy Princess Leia pose standing beside Luke Skywalker holding his lightsaber high in the air, pointed to the stars on the left half. C-3PO and R2-D2 are standing below Vader's large background helmet and there are X-wings racing to the Death Star overhead on the left. It has the tagline, "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." in the top left hand corner, and the Star Wars logo is found on the right side. The right half of the poster has the tagline at the top saying, "It's Back!" (いま、帰って来る!). The logo has a white to blue gradient fill, with the Japanese film title, "スター・ウォーズ" below it, in red. Below the logos are the cast and credits, mostly in Japanese, along with the 20th Century Fox, and Shochiku Company, Ltd. emblems. The poster is showcasing that this film version - indicated by the text in the pink and orange blocks - is a completely dubbed Japanese version. The poster also has an Oscar statuette and lists the 7 different winning categories of the movie that were won at the 50th Academy Awards ceremony. This Japanese transit poster was displayed on subways and buses. It was also posted in public areas, usually on commuter routes and waiting areas.

Variations*: There are many different pre-printed versions of this transit ad that contain the different cinema and movie release and/or showtime information on them. The right hand corner of the poster below the Academy Award information is where these variations occur.
