Other Info: To refresh the promotional campaign for the film, Japan issued this second Empire Strikes Back B0 sized poster that bleeds to the edge of the paper. It shows Cloud City, the space battle between several TIE-fighters and X-wings, a Star Destroyer, and a collage of characters and other locations from the movie. In the back you can see the glimmering Darth Vader helmet looming in the starry distance. The design layout is similar to the original Noriyoshi Ohrai illustration, but instead of using drawings, this B0 sized poster harkens back to the old ways of using live still cutout images like the original Japanese "Star Wars" photo posters. At the top it says, "The second in the Star Wars series!" (Star Wars シリーズ第2弾!) in orange lettering, and below the main composition is the red Japanese title logo スター・ウォーズ 帝国の逆襲 with the cast and crew information centered in the white credits block area. The tagline, "The Star Wars Saga Continues" and a smaller English language logo, along with the 20th Century Fox, Dolby System, and the Eirin (映倫 54183) emblems, are printed towards the bottom of the poster. This Japanese billboard poster was printed in one piece, to be displayed on a large wall or building. Interesting Note* - Because wall space in Japan is always in demand, they call this poster size a billboard, however, in other countries, this would be considered about the size of a two-sheet.
