Australian / New Zealand - Daybills
Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back - Return of the Jedi - Caravan of Courage - Marauders of Endor - The Phantom Menace - Attack of the Clones - Revenge of the Sith - The Force Awakens
Measure approximately 13" x 30", and can vary depending on the year of printing and the printer. These posters usually have two horizontal folds across them, but in recent years, they can now be found rolled on the newer glossy daybill titles. The Star Wars artwork used for these posters is similar to the USA versions, except for the Empire Strikes Back daybill which uses the Japanese design. M.A.P.S. Litho Pty. Ltd. (Mailing and Print Services) and Robert Burton Pty. Ltd. were two of the major printers of posters in Australia at the time and they printed most of the trilogy and Ewok posters. New Zealand primarily uses Australian daybills, and US one-sheets. Posters used in New Zealand carry their own censor stamp. Daybills are still being produced for current film titles, but for some reason there have not been any modern daybill posters to show up for the Special Edition trilogy or for Episode 1 or 2. We finally managed to snag one from the Revenge of the Sith (Episode 3), and it's size is 16" x 20", which has become a more common size in Australia for their modern daybills. It looks more like a mini one-sheet poster.
Australian / New Zealand - One-Sheets
Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back - Return of the Jedi - Caravan of Courage - Marauders of Endor - The Phantom Menace - Attack of the Clones - Revenge of the Sith
Measure approximately 26" x 39". These posters are mainly found folded, but sometimes rolled, and are printed on a thick glossy paper. The Star Wars artwork for these posters uses some of the same artwork as the USA posters, but most of them include either changes in the illustration designs or uses international artwork. M.A.P.S. Litho Pty. Ltd. (Mailing and Print Services) was a major printer of posters in Australia during the 70's, and they printed most of the trilogy posters. The Australian movie rating on these original posters is (NRC), which meant that the movie was - "not recommended for children". New Zealand's posters are the same, but with versions that usually carried their own countries rating system (GY - More suitable for 13+). Around 1984 the NRC rating classification was phased out and the Star Wars trilogy is now rated as PG in accordance with Australia's newer rating system. Australia also has versions of the new Special Edition, Episode 1, Episode 2, and Episode 3 movie posters and they are essentially the same as the US versions, except they carry their rating system on them, and are often harder to obtain. You can also find larger Bus Stop posters and banners from the prequel movies down under, along with posters from the theatrical release of the animated feature film The Clone Wars.
