Other Info: This daybill uses the famous international Empire Strikes Back artwork by Noriyoshi Ohrai. The Twentieth Century Fox Film Distributors in Australia opted to use this international design for the films release in August, 1980. Having this famous Japanese artwork piece translated into the English language, makes it a highly sought after piece by westerners. Luckily, there appears to be lots of copies always floating around for sale. The illustration is on the upper two-thirds of the design, and below it is the silver Empire Strikes Back logo and the cast and credits area with the "NRC" film rating. It also has "The Star Wars Saga Continues", in white lettering, across the top and the 20th Century Fox and Dolby Stereo emblems are found in the bottom corners. The printer information - M.A.P.S. Litho Pty. Ltd. is seen in the right hand bottom border.

Variations*: Apparently, there is a version of this poster that makes the "Empire Strikes Back" logo, usually silver, look like it has a blue/purplish cast to it. We have seen many examples of this daybill, and for the most part other than subtleties in print quality, we have never seen much difference in the logo area region. However, we mention it in case you have run across a version of this unusual coloring.
