Other Info: This poster was used as a theatrical advertisement in the German theater lobbies for the premiere of Empire Strikes Back. It is one of the character posters, in this case the AT-AT, which helped to make up the German Empire Strikes Back Deko (decoration) display. Across the bottom, the paragraph says, "Sie stampfen auf ihren Gelenkbeinen vorwärts wie riesige, gepanzerte Dickhäuter. Gelbrote Flammenwolken fauchen aus ihren Waffen. Kanonen ragen wie Hörner aus den Köpfen der Vernichtungs - maschinen." (They stomp on their forward joint legs like huge, armored elephants. Yellow flames clouds hissing from their weapons. Cannons stick out like horns from the heads of extermination - machines.) The text is in white lettering on a blue background, and it also has the German Empire Strikes Back title logo to the bottom right hand corner of the area. The rest of the poster has a picture of an All Terrain Armored Transport with a snowspeeder exploding overhead. The AT-AT's name tag is printed in white lettering. (Kampfläufer / Ruff) Interesting Note* - this is one of the few examples of Ralph McQuarrie's illustrations to actually make it onto an officially used theatrical poster. The greater majority of his concept artwork was never used on the finalized theatrical Star Wars campaign advertisements.
