Other Info: Star Wars Day is an informal commemorative day observed annually on May 4 to celebrate George Lucas' "Star Wars" media franchise. Observance of the day spread quickly through media and grassroots celebrations since the franchise began in 1977. The date originated from the pun "May the Fourth be with you", a variant of the popular Star Wars catchphrase "May the Force be with you". Even though the holiday was not created or declared by Lucasfilm, many fans across the world have chosen to celebrate the holiday. It has since been embraced by Lucasfilm Ltd. and parent company Disney as an annual celebration of Star Wars. In 2014, several countries around the world celebrated the global Star Wars fan holiday, May the 4th, at selected cinemas that brought back the original films to the BIG screen over a two-day marathon! Germany was one of those countries and this promotional event poster has the Germany outline cutout character of - "Darth Vader" on it surrounded by a black starry background. At the top, in a yellow/gold lettering, is the logo - Star Wars - May the 4th Be With You: Movie Marathon and at the bottom is the release date - 3. Und 4. Mai 2014 (Episode I - VI). It also has the Facebook Star Wars icon - #StarWarsDay and Star Wars Day emblem in the corners.
