Hungarian The Empire Strikes Back '82 Mokép Advertising Postcard
Other Info: Printed up by Csoma Béla MOKÉP - Offset és Játékkártya Nyomda (Béla Csoma MOKÉP - Offset and Playing Card Press) these postcards were given out to Hungarian cinema audiences circa '81-'82 to promote the upcoming "A Birodalom visszavág" film, from the Star Wars trilogy. The front side artwork contains a very expressive, colorful, yet simplified drawing that includes a Star Destroyer, TIE-fighters, and other spacecraft heading toward a green-yellow planet. On the right-hand side is an inset picture of Luke Skywalker showing a headshot portrait (his facial expression reveals - he has just lost his mentor Ben Kenobi) framed within a hot pink border. On the backside of this flyer are the familiar layout markings of a postcard with the address, stamp, and sender areas. In the upper left-hand corner it says, "Mark Hamill a Csillagok háborúja és a Birodalom Visszavág c. film főszereplője" (Mark Hamill Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. starring in the film), and in the bottom left-hand corner is the MOKÉP distributor emblem. It also has the scissors icons to show a patron where to cut out the postcard, however, it appears very few were ever mailed out and mostly ended up in the scrapbooks of cinephiles. Below we are also showing the whole uncut artwork piece. The printing also included another film postcard set at the top - "Bud Spencer és Terence Hill ... És Megint Dühbe Jövünk" (Bud Spencer and Terence Hill ... And we're getting angry again - 1978 Odds and Evens movie). (See pics below)
