Hungarian Return of the Jedi Style "A" Foreign Full Color One-Sheet / A2 Size
Other Info: The poster has the image of Vader's head in the background, with a fierce-looking green warrior - presumably, Jabba the Hutt, holding a spear towards the bottom left-hand side of the poster. At the top, there is an Imperial Lambda-class T-4a shuttle and the Hungarian film title - "A Jedi visszatér" along with credits/taglines / MOKÉP symbol - "A világsikerű amerikai sci-fi Magyarországon / Rendezte: Richard Marquand" (The world-successful American sci-fi in Hungary / Director: Richard Marquand). This A2-sized poster is the third piece from Tibor Helényi's famous Hungarian Star Wars poster series and it also has a Scout trooper riding a speeder bike, an Imperial Star destroyer, and the right eye orb of the Darth Vader helmet image contains the Death Star II mobile battle station. Tibor saw the films, but while working on the oil paintings, he could only rely on his memories, so his works represented the gist of the movies, but he included and created new visions to go along with what was actually in the film. These painted compositions are very surreal and expressive while reflecting the popular visual world of the 1980s - which included the world of illustrated comics, and the popularity of the growing sci-fi genre. (Thanks to the Tibor Helényi Estate Auction for the oil painting information and pics below)
Variations*: There are also two-sheet versions of this poster, A0 size - 119 x 84 cm (46.9" x 33.1"), and also a smaller version called a tram poster. (See pics below)
