Other Info: This A2-sized poster is the first piece from artist Tibor Helényi's famous Hungarian "Star Wars" poster series. The poster is in an overall green monotone hue and it has the Death Star exploding in the background, with a fierce Vader-looking "phantom" warrior holding a lightsaber. R2's dome can also be seen, along with a dragon holding a machete, and Luke Skywalker's X-wing flying thru the trench toward the vulnerable exhaust port target. At the top of the poster, you will find the title logo - "Csillagok háborúja", in green between two lightning bolts, and the credits area talking about the colorful American sci-fi fantasy film directed by George Lucas and distributed by 20th Century Fox (Szines amerikai tudományos-fantasztikus film Rendezte: George Lucas Gyártó:Lucas Film Forgalmazó:20th Century Fox). Helényi saw the films, but while working on the oil paintings, he could only rely on his memories, so his works represented the gist of the movies, but he included and created new visions to go along with what was actually in the film. These painted compositions are very surreal and expressive while reflecting the popular visual world of the 1980s - which included the world of illustrated comics, and the popularity of the growing sci-fi genre. The poster also features an I-II, signifying the film was shown in two parts and it also has the Mokép distributor's emblem on the right.
