Other Info: This is the original Russian release poster for the general public in September '90. The poster is known as the 'rock head' flying through hyperspace. It depicts Darth Vader looking ominously up at the Death Star while peering through a meteor shower. The poster was created almost fifteen years after the original release in '77, and because of this time gap, the artist had the luxury of probably knowing about the events after A New Hope, eg. (Vader with his helmet off in "Империя наносит ответный удар / Возвращение джедая") so he incorporated that knowledge into this Star Wars poster's illustration vibe. In the blue bottom footer, it says, "Художественный Фильм Звездные войны Галактический Вестерн" (Feature film - Star Wars - Galactic Western). In the bottom center, the Russian Star Wars title "Звездные войны", is in bold white lettering. On the sides of the logo it says, "Автор сценария и режиссер Джордж Лукас - В Р О Л Я Х: Марк Хэмилл, Харрисон Форд, Алек Гиннес, Кэрри Фишер - Производство - США" (Written and directed by George Lucas - CAST: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Alec Guinness, Carrie Fisher - Production - USA). The black distributor emblem (dp) is on the lower right-hand side with copyright printing information. There are both matte and glossy print versions of this poster. Interesting Note* - Back in the early nineties when we were trying to acquire these newly discovered "Russian Star Wars Posters", we described what we were looking for to our contact in the Soviet Union, and dubbed the poster the 'rock head'. He knew exactly what we were searching for by the description. So if you ever wondered why this poster goes by this nomenclature in the poster collecting world that's why. It was our attempt to describe the poster.
