Other Info: This poster was used for the Russian premiere in Moscow, in the summer of 1990. It has the image of a Vader-like 'puma head' panther with tiny lightsabers coming out of its head and an armored chest plate. The colorful poster artwork is also surrounded by fun eye and head/face symbols sorta like Egyptian hieroglyphic elements. In the brown bottom footer, it says, "Космический Вестерн" (Cosmic Western) with the Russian Star Wars title "Звездные войны", in bold white lettering. On the sides of the logo, it says, "Автор сценария и режиссер Джордж Лукас - В Р О Л Я Х: М. Хэмилл, Х. Форд, А. Гиннес, К. Фишер и др. - Производство - США" (Written and directed by George Lucas - CAST: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Alec Guinness, Carrie Fisher, etc. - Production - USA). The red publisher/printer emblem "dp" (ReklamFilm Moscow - РекламФильм Москва) is on the lower left-hand side with copyright printing information. There are both matte and glossy print versions of this poster. Matte versions appear to come from Ukraine, while the glossy versions are from Russia. Interesting Note* - Back in the early nineties when we were trying to acquire these newly discovered 'Russian Star Wars Posters', we described what we were looking for to our contact in the Soviet Union, and dubbed this poster the 'puma head'. He knew exactly what we were searching for by the description. So if you ever wondered why this poster goes by this nomenclature in the poster-collecting world that's why. It was our attempt to describe the poster.
