Other Info: With the arrival of The Force Awakens, Disney sold lobby merchandise beginning with the preview showings on December 17, in select theaters for a limited time. (We found them at the Chicago AMC River East 21 & Chicago REGAL City North Stadium 14 IMAX & RPX, however other participating movie houses on the list didn't seem to either get all of the merchandise or have it in time of the release of the film.) Along with these posters, they had a variety of other “Galaxy Premiere” goods, from keychains to hoodies, commemorative tickets, ball caps, and t-shirts. The poster is basically a smaller version of the theatrical one-sheet, however it's logo is embossed and stands out a little more. The poster is framed with a black border and it contains the digitally illustrated montage that has an ominous tone, dominated by the obvious light/dark symbols. Kylo Ren hovers on top besides the new Starkiller Base. Rey is the centerpiece figure holding her scavenger staff, with Finn to her left and his blue lightsaber drawn. Below them are our old friends R2-D2 and C-3PO, Chewbacca, Han Solo, and Princess Leia, all in their action poses. Amongst them are some newer characters, BB-8, Poe Dameron, and the goggle-eyed alien Maz Kanata. At the bottom of the illustration is Captain Phasma centered alongside two Stormtroopers, while a whole legion of them are behind the trio. Spacecraft are flying on both sides of the yellow outlined Star Wars logo, with the white lettered The Force Awakens film title in the middle. It is found centered in the lower third of the poster sitting atop the cast, credits, StarWars.com/TheForceAwakens URL, and corporate sponsor emblems (Bad Robot Productions, Dolby Digital, Soundtrack Available on Walt Disney Records, Lucasfilm Ltd.). You will also find the countries release date and the different formats for viewing the movie, sitting astride the bottom inner border. Release date - (United States) - December 18 in 3D, Real D 3D and IMAX 3D (See pics below)
