Other Info: The second original advance poster was also created by the design agency team of Doyle, Dane, and Bernbach (DDB Worldwide). It was printed on more traditional glossy heavy stock paper. The poster has the tagline, "Coming To Your Galaxy This Summer.", in big bold silver / gray lettering, however, the letters are slightly smaller than on the advance mylar version. It also has a short synopsis at the bottom of the poster that included information about the director and his previous film credit, along with what this film is about - a boy, a girl, and an adventure set in the future. Also, in between the synopsis and the tagline is the outlined Star Wars logo version that had finally been completed/standardized. ILM concept artist Joe Johnston, revised Suzy Rice’s "Star Wars" logo by redesigning the “W”, widening the other letters, and by increasing the letter spacing. This created the final look we're all now familiar with, and it is what was used for this poster. The poster is also highly collectible amongst fans, yet is often harder to find than the first version. (Most copies that we have seen, have many imperfections on them.) This poster bridged the advertising gap between the original '76 Christmas mylar advance and the debut of the blue style "B" advance, which was still being used to advertise the film when it was initially released on May 25, 1977. In the lower right-hand corner is the 20th Century Fox symbol with the 1976 copyright date - however, the poster was issued to theaters in '77. (Tag style info - Litho In U.S.A.) (See pic below)
