Other Info: This insert contains the Thomas Jung style "A" illustration framed within an inner blue border. At the top the tagline says, "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...". Below the artwork is the Star Wars logo that is sitting on top of the cast and credits area. The 20th Century Fox symbol and PG ratings box are found in the lower portion of this slender vertical poster. This version is similar to the '77 domestic insert version, except it has "©1977 Lucasfilm Ltd.", below the PG Ratings box just outside of the lower left hand border, and this insert is also missing the property disclaimer license, and NSS #77/21's text at the bottom left and right hand edge of the poster. Why was the copyright changed on these video posters? The reason the copyright was changed from “©1977 Twentieth Century-Fox” to "© 1977 Lucasfilm LTD." was because 20th Century Fox, in 1979, gave Lucasfilm back their copyright, sequel, and merchandising rights as part of a deal George Lucas made with them before the release of the Empire Strikes Back. So when these original Jung Star Wars style "A" posters were reprinted to advertise for the video campaign in 1982, the copyright was changed to Lucasfilm Ltd., because it occurred after the deal to retain their properties. Interesting Note* - Originally, Star Wars was released on May 27, 1982 for rental only in these formats - Fox Video VHS, Betamax, LaserDisc, CED VideoDisc, and V2000 tape cassettes. Starting September 1, 1982, you could then also purchase them for individual use. (See pics below) (Tag style info - GAU Union bug / Litho In U.S.A.)
