Other Info: This seven-sheet poster was printed in four sections, to be put together and pasted up in an area such as in a mall, on a large wall in the theater lobby, or some other venue where the general public might see it. It contains the famous tagline, "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." placed on the darker blue background at the top. It is also one of the few initial film posters that gives the release date of Star Wars - "Starts May 25th", and that the film was distributed to capable theaters in 70mm - six-track Dolby Stereo format. (It was also sent out in the 35mm two-track (four-channel) Dolby Stereo format). It has the PG Ratings box, Star Wars logo in white outline in the bottom middle third of the poster, Dolby Stereo, and 20th Century Fox emblems. These huge posters originally began showing up in the mid to late 1970's during an experimental advertising stage and were often confused with six-sheets. They were only used for a short time period and then the seven-sheet format was discontinued.
