Other Info: This poster contains the style "C" international artwork by Thomas Chantrell, with the action montage and space cosmos background. The main cast members are holding and firing weapons, and Darth Vader is in the background clenching his drawn red lightsaber. Luke Skywalker is front and center pointing a laser pistol at the viewer, and multiple X-wings are racing around the composition. With an explosion on the right, the Death Star looms towards the left edge of the layout. A smaller C-3PO, R2-D2, and Chewbacca are tucked in underneath Leia, and the faces of Grand Moff Tarkin and Obi-wan Kenobi are floating on the left-hand side. The poster has a wide white border, with a thinner darker inner framing border, printed around the one-sheet. The cast and credits billing block is at the bottom in the white background footer region. The Guerra nas Estrelas logo is printed in the famous pyramid shape layout, with starry filled in lettering, and it sits in the lower right-hand corner of the poster. You will also see the 20th Century Fox and Panavision / Technicolor emblems at the bottom. In the bottom border on the left and right sides it says, "Criação De José Maria / Impressão - Nacional Gráfica - RJ." (Creation by José Maria / Printing - Nacional Gráfica - RJ.) It also has a federal approval censor stamped on the back, to indicate the film could be shown in theaters. This poster is rarely seen for sale and very few copies have survived over the years from the country known for its jungles and rainforests. This poster was distributed to the largest cultural cities of Brazil during the film's national release on January 30, 1978. (See pics below)
